XYZoop is named after the xyz kitchen sink soup approach of compiling disparate material recorded in 8 different locations including samples and recordings from the last 6 years (mostly the last 3). My life and musical trajectory were hugely impacted (as were many) by Covid-19 leading to living displacement and a very interesting series of experiences wandering the U.S..

XYZoop is a patchwork story of two Zork childhood friends who grow to take very different paths in life. This story was inspired by the intensifying U.S. political climate in the last several years, its effects on our personal and communal relationships, alienation during the pandemic and the attempt to dig out of the hole. We have seen some rainy days and I’m sure there are more to come, but its good to keep an umbrella handy and hope for sunlight.
